

OUR STORY

How we started.
Our Splendid Table Inc. developed from a love of baking and cooking over many, many years. I was raised by a mom who was a master in the kitchen and her enthusiasm for food rubbed off on me at a very young age. I remember way back (after I graduated from using my Easy Bake oven!), while my brothers were busy with hockey on Saturdays, I was dropped off in Kensington Market where I made my way up the stairs of George Brown College to my cooking classes ... I was 11. A lot of time has passed since then but my appreciation for good food, fresh seasonal ingredients, new combinations of tastes and flavours never changed. My passion for cooking a diverse selection of ethnic foods and baking continues to expand. Working full-time, two kids, many cooking courses later, a lot of playing with ingredients, I found creativity and solace in my kitchen as my daughter Eden got sick. It was her encouragement that eventually made me change my focus in life and choose my home in the kitchen full time. Well, what can I say, I love each and every cooking experience, one "atta" time.
